NC won’t accept information directive: Sujuta

Sujat Koirala
GORKHA, JAN 31 - Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sujuta Koirala said that her party will never accept the government’s decision to classify information.
Speaking at the Training program of Dalit Association Gorkha on Tuesday, Koirala said the government’s decision to conceal the information is condemnable.
“Congress will raise voice against it. There is a thing called transparency in democracy and the people should know the government decision,” said Koirala. “Hundreds of congress cadres have sacrificed for the same. This is not an easy thing for congress.”
Koirala dubbed the government’s classified information directive as a move to gag the press freedom.
“Congress can’t accept this tyrannical decision,” she said.
Accusing the Maoists of creating obstruction in the peace and constitution writing processes, Koirala claimed that the Maoists will have to suffer a heavy loss if the new constitution was not promulgated by May 27 deadline.
“There is no possibility of extending the constitution writing deadline as the Supreme Court has already issued an order not to extend the CA term,” said the NC leader. She added that Maoists will be wiped out automatically if the peace process and constitution drafting could not be completed by the deadline.
